🛠️ ProTone Touch-Up Guide: 9 Easy Steps for a Seamless Finish
-
Clean the Area
Wash the surface with soap and water, then dry it fully. Use rubbing alcohol to remove any residual grease or wax for a clean base. -
Sand the Scratch
Gently sand the scratch using 2000-grit paper. This helps the paint adhere better. Sand lightly — just enough to smooth the edges. -
Apply Primer (if needed)
For deeper scratches down to bare metal, apply a thin coat of primer using the pen. Let it dry fully before continuing. -
Shake the Touch-Up Pen
Shake vigorously to mix the paint. This ensures even colour and consistent flow. -
Apply the Touch-Up Paint
Apply thin coats to the scratch using the pen. Let each layer dry before adding the next for a smooth, even finish. -
Apply Clear Coat (if included)
Once the paint is dry, apply the clear coat to seal and add gloss protection. -
Let it Dry
Allow the paint to cure fully. This can take several hours — don’t rush it. -
Polish the Area
Use a polishing compound and a soft cloth to gently buff the repair into the surrounding paint. -
Wax the Area
Finish with a coat of wax to protect the repair and restore the shine.
